How far behind can my books be? +
As far behind as they are — we've caught up businesses that hadn't reconciled in over a year. We scope the catch-up separately so it doesn't hold up getting you onto a monthly rhythm.
Do I need to switch accounting software? +
Usually not. If your current setup works, we work in it. If it's actively working against you, we'll say so and handle the migration.
Will you handle bill pay and invoicing too? +
AP and AR tracking is included — we keep visibility on what's owed and what you owe. Actually cutting checks or sending invoices can be added depending on your setup.
What if I already have a bookkeeper? +
Some clients keep their bookkeeper and add SmartScale for the FP&A and CFO layer on top. Others hand the whole thing to us. Either works — we'll figure out which makes sense on the call.
How is this different from what my CPA does? +
Your CPA files taxes once a year, working from whatever your books look like by then. We keep the books clean all year, which makes their job faster — and often cheaper.
